Re: Twisted flying wires

As far as i know the reason for the twists in the flying wires effects the DYHEDRAL of the wing . The more dyhedral the more stable the wing but also more difficult to make it roll into a turn. Dyhedral is increased by twisting the wires more times and vice versa. Aquilla has 3 turns as far as i can...

Re: Nose wheel Cubbies

Thanks for the info Grostek.
the diameter of the strut is a fixed 35 mm so i cannot change that unless i do mods to the engine bracket. Increase in the wall thickness should be definately better then the existing pipe they fitted on without doing too many changes.

Thanks again

Nose wheel Cubbies

This is just the follow up as to the accident of my cubby ZU -DWY at Baps earlier this year. I am now in the process of making sure that the nose wheel is made more sturdier than the existing one. On close inspection i noticed that the wall thickness of the nose wheel tube differed at the place wher...

Re: Cubby Owners

Hi Tandemtod1

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. Yes i did fit the pressure line with the high pressure filter and have also fitted the second fuel pump with a pressure gauge to ensure i got pressure on the line at all times.
Will keep you updated.

Re: Cubby Owners

Can any one tell me whats the pressure generated by the fuel pump on a cubby and must it have a fuel filter that is specifically designed for that pressure? The other question is whats the reason for a momentary oil temp drop of approx 10 deg C during flight and after a minute going back to approx 9...

Re: Cubby Owners- fuel pump

Whilst working on my cubby i had a chance to look under the panel of my tri cubby as it was due for a filter change and the rest of the service for my annual ATF. i see that the cubby is running on one fuel pump. There is no redundancy should the system fail either by loosing its supply or pump fail...

In the process i told them i would like to get some drawings and engine data which might assist in maintenance in the future. The operators manual i got fro...
