Yeah John, they are micromillimetres above Fleetwood Mac and Def Leopard. Sadly all three are now past history! altho some of the members are still around.

Re: ICASA - NON DELIVERY!!!!
Hi Guys, This post is primarily aimed at Gadget as we have exchanged correspondence previously, however, there are a considerable number of other respondents who will be in a similar position and to whom this mail will also apply. I have for a considerable period of time attempted to play down ICASA...

Re: Registration of new (for me) aircraft
Hi BeanCounter (and others),
Ref your response to Topflight regarding fees. The ICASA radio licence fee is R600.00 for the first year, i.e. the total of R480.00 one-time application fee plus R120.00 annual licence fee.

Re: ICASA - NON DELIVERY!!!!
Hi Gadget, If you've sold one of the planes, please don't forget to cancel the licence otherwise you may still be held liable for the fees for next year if the licence is not cancelled by 1st April 2013. It's an easy thing to do and just requires a letter from you quoting your existing licence numbe...

Re: ICASA - NON DELIVERY!!!!
Hey Gadget, I think I have the correct person but if not, I hereby apologise. Your 2012-2013 licence fees were paid, together with the fees for another licence held by a Mr Fourie, as a lump sum of R240.00 into Mr Fourie's account on 23/02/2012 (somewhat less than 5 months ago!). Possibly as a resul...

Re: ICASA - NON DELIVERY!!!!
Hi Air Hog, I've checked your account status and it is currently reflecting a credit of R209.00, your payment of R329.00 (for a 3-year licence) having been credited on 12/04/2012. As mentioned in my previous posting, we have some bugs in our DB which are being sorted out, however, because we have re...

Re: ICASA - NON DELIVERY!!!!
Hi Guys, Noted the above mails and thanks to some of you kind folk for the praise!! LOL One of the biggest problems I have with these forums, note it's not just this one, is that people use pseudonyms or pen-names and don't identify themselves, neither is there any info relevant to who they are if y...

Re: Steps required to register a plane
Hi Ant,
I can't help you with the aircraft registration or insurance aspects but can assist in the ICASA radio licence procedures. Drop me a mail to pleonard@icasa dot org dot za and I'll forward you the application forms and payment information.
Regards,
Peter

Re: Trike Radio License
Good Day Everybody, A couple of points in this thread require clarification, so here goes. Firstly, all aircraft station and most other types of licence fees for the forthcoming year, i.e. 01/04/2012 to 31/03/2013, were debited to the respective licence accounts on 22nd of February. Posting of renew...

Re: Increase of Radio Licence Fees
It is my understanding that, if you pay for 5 years, the licence will be issued and valid for the relevant 5-year period, thus eliminating the need to renew every year. However, the mechanics of this has still to be finalised by ICASA HQ so it is subject to confirmation which I will post here ASAP. ...

Increase of Radio Licence Fees
Hi Everyone, I'm not too sure where this topic should be posted so if it is in the wrong place the Moderator should please relocate it correctly: On 27th August 2010 in Government Gazette number 33495, ICASA published amended Radio Frequency Spectrum Licence Fees which were to have become effective ...

Hi John et Al, Thanks for the clarification to which I respond as follows hereunder. I would request that you note that my responses, whilst following official policy as far as possible, also reflect my own interpretations/opinions to enable the points to perhaps be better understood. 1. Pilot's nev...

Re: Why is service so crap - non-aviation topic
John, belay my last. If I'd read your post and its peripheral info I wouldn't have asked such a silly question! The States should recognise your ZS (we recognise their licences) so I'll try and find out what the problem is and revert.

Re: Why is service so crap - non-aviation topic
Hi John et Al, I will respond to all your points ASAP but in the meantime, where are you that your ZS licence is not recognised? I know there was a problem with reciprocity due to the ongoing Morse option for a ZS, however that was supposedly sorted out and full reciprocity with most countries resto...

Hi John,
Just curious as to why you lump ICASA in with Helkom and Eishkom. Without wishing to downplay the problems with ICASA, (who knows them better than me?) I would have thought they are not quite in the same league as the other 2 yet.
Peter
