She is looking great Boet.
What is the history and origin of your Turbi? The only reference I could find, to a Turbi was to the Druine Turbi.
Is there any connection?

Re: Rebuilding the Turbi ll
This is a horrible question to ask after all that work. Do you think it would have been better to have replaced some of the worn bits rather than stripping it down and recovering the plane?

Hi Ian
Why would you want to remove the slats?

Electric aircraft take to the air

Re: Knock Detector
Is that sensor part of the R1200 motor or are you fitting your own piezo mic to the motor?
What is the frequency you quote? (2.8kHz) Is that the frequency of the pre-ignition "knocking" sound you are trying to detect?

Some people were offended by the video’s and I removed it. It is your choice. If they were truly offensive they would have been removed by the Administrator one of the moderators. If they are gyro related and meet the site guidelines http://www.microlighters.co.za/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=33 you are fre...

Be carefull where you point that double walk hail gun of yours Boet. It's a lot easier to damage wings than a runway!Boet wrote:SPARROWS. ...They soon will go the way of the bloody Aardvark that dug up the runway.

Speak to Aiden at Solowings about this. I don't believe it is necessary. One big advantage of leaving it is that if/when you take the head and cylinder off there is no danger of dropping bits into the crank case.

Tail Wheel??
While admiring Marks gyro I noticed the size or the tail wheel.
Why are there no tail wheel gyros? By this I mean no nose wheel.
Would this not give you a more robust undercarriage and the ability to get in and out of rough strips?

Nope, need to do a conversion. Instructors are few and far between who has got the rating AND will do the conversion. The buzzword seems to be "old technology". May be true but this is what I can afford right now. Found an instructor and the conversion is planned for 15 December. Old technology my ...

Re: Need some help on Shadow Microlight
Hi Green Tree Welcom to Microlighters. I don't know much about the Shadow Trainer but I do know that many of the Quick Silver microlights, that have the same spoilers system, were converted to three axis. Some of them are still flying. http://www.microlighters.co.za/download/file.php?id=10548 http:/...
