Re: Microland Breakfast - Sat, Nov 8th

The left foot... excellent idea to stay away from the brake during the launch!

Re: Multi focal Glasses

Duckman, I've been wearing bifocals since they were invented and know how to "drive" them. Only problem is, in a trike you sit at a slightly backwards tilt and have to really crane your neck to get the upper part of the lens to point down, very strenuous, not nice. Naah, the Harley's and stickies do...

Re: Disc Brakes?

So true, Erika, I also rather do low passes than touches. The Aquilla pod tends to crack at the base quite easily. Some days the wobble is less severe. I have tried static off the trike balancing like you do with bike wheels, but the results were shortlived. Maybe someday I'll become clever and thin...

Re: Disc Brakes?

I'm not too concerned about rear brakes on the Aquilla, but would like to hear of a simple means to stop the rear wheels rotating straight after take-off. Kite wheels never stay balanced, after standing for two weeks, there is a flat spot, etc. and you inevitably end up with a resonant wobble that s...

Re: Multi focal Glasses

Hi MILO I am farsighted and wear multifocals. The upside/downside of it is that I would like it to be upside down. When I fly, the bottom part facilitates near vision and the earth and scenery is a blur, whilst the sky, clouds and wing are nicely focused. It also messes up depth perception and I hav...

Re: Installing a standby Electric Fuel Pump

My kite had been standing for a month when, last Thursday, I took a friend for a flip. With the Facet energised, the Rattex fired up immediately whereas previously it was quite a dice whether the donkey would wake up before the battery was churned flat. A must have, IMHO.

Re: YOU AIN'T GOING TO LIKE THIS - BUT

Ja, no use trying to duck out of this now. If you want to come to Africa, best start getting used to standing on your hind legs and face the music. Also, not every day we get the chance to sling some sh!t at someone, don't go spoil the fun.

Re: YOU AIN'T GOING TO LIKE THIS - BUT

The post is topically correct. I find this passionate outburst in bad taste and reeking of Klipdrift.

Re: Installing a standby Electric Fuel Pump

To add, the poh states that fuel pump should be on initially to prime the carb, then turned off for starting & after start the fuel pressure guage is monitored to ensure positive pressure is maintained by the mechanical pump. The pump is off for taxi & run ups. Pump is turned on for take off & once...

Da man was 13 years old when he joined here in May this year, still quite a number of sleepies before getting seriously involved in the hardware side of things

Re: Polishing Lexan

If you have a contact in the SAAF, they use a clear fluid on fighter canopies that polishes out scratches, dull spots and shines like new. Got my last precious bottle from a friend at Swartkops for use on bike shields, unfortunately not there anymore.
